Flood Pro-Tech System Testing
All testing was conducted by Dr P Dong,
Department of Civil Engineering,
University of Dundee.

 

Conclusions

1. The flood gate according to the modified design performed well in all hydrostatic and hydrodynamic testing conditions. No leakage was found during the entire testing period of 24 hours subject to the full design water level.
   
   
2. The reinforced bars are essential in preventing the polycarbonate shield from bending and these should be attached to the shield 200mm from the bottom edge and at the top.
   
   
3. The clips if properly fitted securely as designed, will apply enough pressure on the rubber strips to ensure the gate will be water tight. Even if one or two clips come off for any reason, it will not affect the functionality of the gate.
   
   
4. The system is extremely simple and effective in its design
